Freedom Forum is now conducting following activities: 1. Legal support to Journalists: Forum is continuously supporting journalists for their cases at different courts against owners for violating working journalist law and with government against its action against press and media workers especially during King's direct rule. The legal support is being provided through Press Freedom Grand Jury Nepal in coordination of Forum's chairperson. 3. Human Rights: Freedom Forum is continuously monitoring the events of human rights violation throughout the nation through its human rights desk in coordination of its secretary. 4. Budget Transparency: Freedom Forum recently conducted easy competition on 'Government Budget and Our Future'. 136 students form JEMS, Budhanilkantha, Don Bosco, Little Angel's and Nobel Academy had participated the competition. Forum is going to organize the award distribution program for the winners and participants soon. It is also conducting through experts the way our government spends the budget. Report of first year's monitoring is going to be published soon. 5. Right to Information: Freedom Forum has filed case against election commission for non disclosure of information regarding signatories supporting the parties during party registration before CA election. It is providing support to the information seekers with the idea of requesting Information form instructions involving in activities of public interest. Its current activities are all directed to promote RTI culture in Nepal. Freedom forum is now developing end implimenting the customized programs on RTI. National convention on RTI is going to be conducted on March 28 and 29 in Kathmandu. Similarly, Forum is conducting a project to draft bill on public service brodcasting bill in collaboration with UNESCO Nepal. 6. Election and media: Freedom Forum is working on the website www.nepalelectionchannel.org with the aim of promoting quality of election journalism and free and fair election in Nepal.
